School of Engineering and FM Collaboration
LAU’s Facilities Management held a collaborative initiative with the School of Engineering to bridge the gap between classrooms’ learning and real interactive learning experience.
Three seminars and site visits took place on October 6 , 13 and 17, 2017. The first seminar captured an overview of the mechanical infrastructure systems in Byblos Campus.
The seminar of October 13, 2017 included an overview of the electrical infrastructure systems, networks and plants.
The last seminar provided LAU community with a rich presentation about the following key elements of LAU’s Capital Construction:
Capital Construction Planning across campuses
Contract Administration and Project Management arrangement of Capital Projects
Overview of FIDIC contracts, construction project management and administrative forms
Overview of the Library and Administration Project’s LEED-Gold certification process.
Overview of LAU’s Sustainability Plan
These seminars fostered a culture of collaboration, openness, and interaction between Facilities Management and the School of Engineering student talent. This collaborative initiative assists in building the students’ skillset and developing professionally to achieve all-round excellence in their studies and future careers.
