Capital Planning oversees all activities associated with planning, financing, gaining approval for construction of new facilities, and the Repair and Rehabilitation Program. The Capital Plan helps the University understand and plan for upcoming projects over the next five years. The office of Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management manages the planning process. Every year the plan is updated to reflect new developments.
The process of planning projects involves several tasks which ultimately define the projects: needs assessment, feasibility studies, initial project formulation and programming, project planning guide development, funding plan development, and special projects. The process involves planning and implementing the university’s physical development program, which coordinates a wide variety of capital development initiatives across LAU. It is designed to assure the highest quality development consistent with our Master Plan’s vision and guiding principles.
