By Miscellaneous Site Work 2019-2020

The scope of work included:
1. Replacing the existing Science Parking Fence
2. Relocating the Science Parking Entrance Card Reader
3. Manufacture and install in place a parking cover for the Physically Challenged Persons in the Science Parking
4. Manufacture and install a fence to cover the Generator & Garbage Bins near the PP workshop at the Upper Gate

By Campus Parking Lots Asphalting & Marking 2019-2020

The scope of work was to grab and micro-mill the previously existing asphalted surface of the Science parking and upper gate parking to receive a new layer of Asphalt; then mark the parking lots by supplying and hot applying thermostatic road marking
Asphalting and Marking of the following Parking Lots:
* Science parking
* Upper gate parking

BA L9 Renovation 2018-2019

The scope of work included refurbishing both sides of the attic of Block A building and provided additional administrative and academic offices; the total refurbished area was 870 m2.
The project also included:
- the removal of the existing steel stairs linking the offices in level 8 with level 9 and closing the slab openings by pouring reinforced concrete,
- relocating the existing telecommunication room and the existing elevator machines’ room,
- elevating the lift one floor to reach floor level 9,
- creating new electrical room to serve the floor,
- removing the balcony ceramic tiles and the red roofing tiles to apply the needed waterproofing work to the slopped and plain roof slabs; and then re-tiling.

Science L1 Academic Space 2018-2019

The scope of work included upgrading the facility to provide more academic spaces. The project provided a new multi-purpose studio and MAC Lab for the Communication Arts Department.

Zakhem L6 Academic Space 2018-2019

The scope of work consisted of refurbishing the vacated Engineering labs into smart classrooms including infrastructure for Lecture Capture/Distant Learning. Three additional classrooms have been provided to meet the academic needs and the University expansion plan.

Student Lounge Upgrading Work 2018-2019

The scope of work included upgrading the furniture and layout of the Student lounge in the Student Center.

Miscellaneous Waterproofing Work 2018-2019

The scope of work involved Civil and minor plumbing works to solve the persistent ingress of rainwater run-off and channel it across different areas on campus.

Gymnasium Expansion 2017-2018

The scope of work was to refurbish the area between the Byblos underground parking and the Student Center into a gym extension; it involved Civil, MEP and NTM works.

UGP Tunnel 2017-2018

The scope of work included refurbishing the existing warehouse and opening the tunnel connecting the Underground Parking to Block A Building. A new underground access has been created to connect Block A to the campus and secure a safe passage for LAU community. The project also included creating an extra office in the Supply Office in Block A L3 and refurbishment of the IT store in Block A L2. It involved Civil, Electrical and NTM works.

CHSC Simulation Center 2017-2018

The scope of work included relocating the IT multimedia room and transforming the space into a control room for the Simulation Center. A B-Line Simulation Management System were installed in the Control Room of the Chagoury Health Sciences Center, Level 5.

BA 303 and 701 Renovation 2017-2018

The scope of work was to refurbish the old store room 303 to provide a Janitor room and remodel room 701 into an Office for three persons. It involved Civil, Electrical and NTM works.

Underground Parking External Stairs 2017-2018

In order to provide covered access to students in rainy days, the scope of work was to cover the existing staircase by installing aluminum louvers and composite panels (Alucobond) to the elevations, in addition to sandwich panels with aluminum louvers roofing. It involved Civil and MEP works.

Science L1 - Food Processing Lab 2017-2018

The project’s scope was to refurbish part of the vacated space of the Civil Engineering Lab in Science Building level 1 into a new Food Processing Lab. It involved major Civil, MEP and NTM works. This new campus facility was provided to meet the academic requirements of the Nutrition Program of the University.

ELRC L2 - Traffic Driving Simulator 2017-2018

The scope of work was to refurbish room 2210 and provide a new window/opening with its adjacent classroom and install the related electrical outlets. The work was needed to accommodate the driving simulator, requiring a control room.

Library Extension Post Office 2017-2018

The scope of work was to refurbish the existing offices in the Library extension level 1 that has been vacated by the Protection office. It included covering the metal walls, refurbishing the existing toilet, replacing the flooring and adding a connecting sliding window between offices, in addition to all related Civil, MEP and NTM works.

BA L5 IT Offices 2016-2017

The scope of work was to refurbish the existing Byblos IT Offices for better internal grouping along with adding a working space and offices for newly recruited staff.

SCI Labs Maintenance Work 2016-2017

The scope of work included minor upgrading work for the Natural Sciences department’s labs in the Science Building, level 3.

Protection Office 2016-2017

The scope of work included needed renovation work to relocate the Protection office to the Gate House as per the University Short-Term Reallocation Plan.

CHSC Library Additional Study Carrels/Entrance 2016-2017

The scope of work included the addition of study carrels to best meet the needs of students.

RHB L4 Dormitories Study Rooms 2016-2017

The scope of work included upgrading works to provide study rooms and a computer lab in Residence Hall B.

UP L3 Warehouse 2016-2017

The scope of work was to refurbish room#320 of the Under-Ground parking for storage purpose, transforming it into two separate warehouses: one for the Hospitality Services and the other for the Student Services.

ARC L1 Laser Printing-Room Refurbishment 2016-2017

The scope of work was to refurbish the existing space to accommodate the new laser printing machine.

BA L6 HR Offices 2016-2017

The scope of work was to refurbish the existing Byblos Human Resources Department in Block A Building Level 6. This project was completed to maximize space distribution and provide additional administrative offices. The improvements increased the efficiency of work flow and provided a more aesthetically pleasing work environment.

BA Level 3 Biology Lab 2016-2017

The scope of work was to create a Biology lab in Block A level 3 by applying the needed civil and finishing, elector-mechanical work and IT. This lab is needed to cater to academic needs of the School of Arts & Sciences.

FCC L3 Room 301 OCE Offices 2015-2016

The scope of work was to transform the existing lounge in Frem Civic Center into an open space office unit that would fit six desks with counters and cabinets for the use of the Outreach and Civic Engagement Office.

Lecture Capture Project 2015-2016

The scope of work was to render Classrooms number CHSC 4204, CHSC 5100, CHSC 5510, ZEH 401, ZEH 405, ZEH 508, ARC 502 & SCI 403 into smart lecture capture classrooms, in which classroom-based activities are recorded and made available for review after class, reflecting the latest pedagogical developments. 

SCI L6 Additional Offices 2015-2016

The scope of work included creating offices to accommodate the VP-HR & US Office and a visiting office for the Legal Counsel in Science Building, Level 6.

BA L6 FM Offices 2015-2016

The scope of work was to refurbish half of the wing in Block A Building, Level 6 in order to group the FM team.

Parking Lots A, B & K 2014-2015

Major renovation for an area of 12,100m2 has been completed, including fencing, parking lining, irrigation system, excavation, reinforced concrete work, lighting system and related electrical work, security kiosks, emergency phones, barriers supply, and installation of CCTVs and multimedia equipment, etc., as well as the asphalting of Parking lots A & B.

RHB Level 4 Music and Dancing Rooms 2014-2015

The music and dancing rooms were relocated from Block A Building to Residence Hall B in order to accommodate more offices in Block A Building.

ARC L1 Renovation 2014-2015

Workshops and labs allocated to the School of Architecture and Design in Architecture Hall were refurbished. The project was designed and executed with energy conservation features (e.g., efficient lighting, occupancy sensors for AC and lighting control, etc.).

ARC L3/L4 Offices 2014-2015

Architecture Hall offices on Levels 3 and 4 were renovated and remodeled to accommodate new faculty members.

RHB Waterproofing for Terraces 2014-2015

The scope of work included resolving water leakages into the dormitories and the external stairs of Residence Hall B.

BA Level 7 Renovation

Existing rooms in Block A Building were refurbished  to create 16 offices for new users in addition to providing toilets and services area. Half of Level 7 was renovated to cater to the space needs of the School of Arts and Sciences.

BA L4, 5, 6 and 7

Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Block A Building were refurbished to accommodate occupants moving in from the Tohme-Rizk Building.

SON & Computer Lab Modifications

The architecture of the School of Nursing was modified, in addition to some modifications to the computer lab allocated to the School of Medicine.

SC Offices Renovation

Student Center offices allocated to the Dean of Student Services were renovated and remodeled.
